Tim Progosh is an actor who was working on a movie about Elvis impersonators. It was a documentary based on the annual "Elvis" Convention in Orillia, Ontario. The premise and his challenge was to enter, prepare and participate in a competition, along with 86 other seasoned tribute artists. Since he had never sung before, he came to Art Nefsky for help. Out of the 87 contestants, he placed in the top 16. (view video)
Ann is a visually impaired singer from Atlanta whose stage fright was so acute, she took beta blockers to reduce her heart pounding. After trying everything, including hypnotism, she decided to fly to Showoffs in Toronto before "hanging it up". She met her future manager at one of our weekend workshops and has since produced a CD and performed at a number of concerts without taking a pill. (view video)

John Church, CEO of a major crane company in Toronto came to Showoffs Studio on two occasions. His first time was a weekend workshop where his wish was to learn how to sing from scratch and do a song in front of people from beginning to end for the first time. Ragnar, then unemployed, and desperate to overcome what he called his "social phobia", needed to overcome his shyness around people in order to secure a job. His wife was due any day, so he decided to fly to Toronto from Iceland for one weekend with Art Nefsky. Kathy was asked to say a speech at her sister's wedding. Nervous at having never addressed an audience before, or even speaking into a microphone, she decided to fly in from Winnepeg to participate in one of Art Nefsky's customized weekend performance workshops. Realizing that "if she could sing, she could talk", Kathy went through a series of exercises designed to take her out of her comfort zone.
